Hello Chefs!

In the past weeks, we have been working with our manufacturer to get all the components in the right way. Want to check them out?

 And here's the actual unboxing for the sample:

We fixed some minimal details before proceeding to massive production. (Which started yesterday!)

There are two things missing in the sample:

1) The cardboard insert: The manufacturer will design this and will share pictures with us later. We will work with them to make sure everything's ok.

2) The recipe book: We decided not to produce the physical recipe book because it was delaying the production. Grammar check and proper cooking terms were needed and provided by an actual chef. We have the text now and are working on the graphic design. Since this is not a component of the game, we decided that a delay on production for this was not worth it. So we are going to send you the digital pdf file of the recipe book (full color). Backers who added the digital Recipe book on BackerKit will not be charged for it. The item has already been removed from BackerKit.

We appreciate your understanding and let us be clear again: you will receive the recipebook, only digital instead of physical.

Status on the Deluxe version: We are on time. Production will take 4 weeks and we will be able to ship them on January to the hubs around the world.

Status of the portable version: this version is going to be produced in México. Manufacture for this is being delayed due to an unexpected increase on the quote our manufacturer provided. We are discussing the terms and will let you know more details on this when we get them. We may change to a different provider because we have a defined budget for the portable version.

Locking-Down surveys

We will lock down the surveys during the first week of January, you will still be able to modify your address if needed but you will not be able to add or remove items (So the time is now to get those Annukuh cards, hat chefs or additional copies!)

Proofreading rules before printing

(Don't worry too much on the graphic design, we already pointed out some  revisions, although feel free to share your opinions on that matter too).

Production has started!

Hello Chefs!

We have many news to share with you:

• We have paid our manufacturer to start production order for the Deluxe copy.
  In the following weeks we will be working with them to receive the sample and then proceed with massive production. Of course we will share the pictures!
  
• Rulebooks has been translated to Spanish, French, Italian and German.
  This time, we asked native speakers to help us with this task, all of them are board gamers from Europe so the rules will be clear. We will share with you the file soon in case you want to help us proofread it. :)
  
• Some new illustrations and print files.
  Our artist has done a splendid job with the main characters of Cooking Rumble:
  
  

Also, take a look at the recipes unlocked with the campaign. We are very glad of having more countries join to the game with some of their iconic recipes!

 As you may recall, backers voted for the recipes they wanted to add. There was a tie in 3rd place, so we decided to give you 1 additional recipe!

And here's how the recipes will look in the Deluxe version:

 We included the ingredient symbols on all 4 sides because of 2 reasons: Players distribution in the table and allowing the game to be played with 4 players! We have an expansion in mind for that and will add a cool twist and new taste to the game. However, we modified the 3-player rules to make gameplay alike the original 2-player and we discovered that the same rules can apply for 4 players! This is not official though because there are not enough markers and tokens for a 4th player (and including them would cause trouble with the budget) but if you manage to use other tokens, you can definitely play Cooking Rumble with an extra friend!

• Backerkit survey
  Please answer your survey to let us know your mailing address and pay for shipping fees. Also, if you are getting tired of receiving automatic reminder e-mails, answering the survey is the best way to stop it. It will take you no more than 1 minute.
  
  Mexican Backers: Apparently, coupons are only valid for pre-orders. So please pay for the shipping on Backerkit and we will refund you 70% if you pick your game at La Caravana or if you agreed with Emilio to receive it personally.
  
  European Backers: Our projections for your region were wrong and it will cost us €3 more than what we thought. We are paying half. This is something that trouble us, so we definitely want to compensate you in some way in the future.
  
• Hero is coming back!!
  Hero was our first game which used transparent cards. It is a humorous and deep game that we launched back in June 2016. Players take the role of common people who are not heroes at all but must prepare one (or two... maybe 5 just to be sure) to kill the dragon that's destroying the kingdom. This is how the game works (art is not final):

With this campaign we are trying to fund the artwork and all backers, beginning with US $5, get to decide about 1 card to be included in the game (A broken sword? A plasma pistol? an electric guitar? a ninja outfit?). Take a look at the campaign to see the perks of becoming a backer.

That's all the news we have for now. A year ago today, Kickstarter open its doors to Mexico and we launched Tricksters which became the first Mexican project to reach its funding goal. Tenemos muchas noticias que compartir:We have many news to share with you:

• Hemos procedido con el pago para la producción de la versión De lujo.
  En las próximas semanas estaremos trabajando con ellos para recibir la muestra y después proceder con la producción masiva. Cuenten con el hecho de que compartiremos fotos.
  
• Los instructivos han sido traducidos.
  A pesar de que la versión en español no representa complicación y ya estaba traducida, también hemos terminado la traducción en Alemán, Francés e Italiano. Esta vez trabajamos con jugadores nativos de esos países para los últimos tres idiomas. Próximamente compartiremos el archivo en español para quien guste ayudarnos a revisar que sea entendible y no tenga errores.
  
• Nuevas ilustraciones y archivos de impresión
  Nuestra artista ha hecho un gran trabajo con los personajes principales de Cooking Rumble.

También ha terminado las nuevas recetas que se añadirán al juego. ¡Estamos muy felices por incorporar a más países al juego con algunos platillos icónicos! 

Hace unos meses, ustedes, nuestros patrocinadores, votaron por las recetas que querían agregar. Había un empate por el 3er lugar así que revisamos números y decidimos reglarles 1 receta adicional. :)

Y así es como se verán las recetas en la versión de lujo:

Incluimos los símbolos de ingrediente en los 4 lados por 2 razones: Distribución de los jugadores en la mesa ¡y para permitir que se pueda jugar con 4 jugadores! Tenemos una expansión en mente para esto que agregará un giro y sabor nuevo al juego. Sin embargo, al trabajar en las reglas para 3 jugadores y hacerlas más similares a la versión de 2 jugadores, descubrimos que las mismas reglas pueden aplicar para 4 jugadores. Oficialmente no estará indicado en la caja ya que no hay suficientes marcadores y fichas para un cuarto jugador (Incluirlas iba a representar un problema en el presupuesto) pero mientras no exista la expansión, si logras usar otros materiales como fichas y marcadores, definitivamente puedes incorporar a un 4to jugador.

• Encuesta de Backerkit
  Por favor responde a la encuesta para que conozcamos tu dirección de envío y puedas realizar el pago (por el envío únicamente). Si estás recibiendo e-mails automáticos de recordatorio, contestar la encuesta es la mejor manera para dejar de recibirlos. Tomará menos de 1 minuto contestarla. 

Mexicanos: Aparentemente los cupones son únicamente válidos para las pre-ventas. Solicitamos cordialmente que paguen por el envío en Backerkit y posteriormente les reembolsaremos el 70% al realizar la entrega personal en La Caravana o si acordaron con Emilio que les hará entrega personal. 

Europeos: Nuestras estimaciones para us región fueron erróneas y nos costará €3 más poder hacerles llegar sus recompensas. Estamos subsidiando la mitad. Esto es algo que nos angustia así que definitivamente queremos compensar por ello en el futuro y ofrecerles algún beneficio extra.

• ¡HERO regresa! Hero es nuestro primer juego desarrollado. Usaba cartas transparentes, era chistoso y estratégico; lo lanzamos en Junio 2016 pero no llegó a su meta. Los jugadores tomaban el papel de gente ordinaria que no eran héroes en lo absoluto pero debían reclutar y prepara a alguno para matar al dragon...o dos... quizá 5 para estar seguros. Así es como el juego funciona (el arte es un trabajo en progreso):

Con esta campaña queremos financiar el arte del juego y todos los patrocinadores, desde $100 MXN, podrán elegir 1 carta para ser incluida en el juego (¿una espada rota? ¿pistola de plasma? ¿una guitarra eléctrica? ¿un atuendo ninja?) Just to let you know that we have just sent the surveys on BackerKit.

As mentioned in the campaign, shipping will be charged there. This is mainly for two reasons:

• It's better for the project when the exact number of backers from each region is known so the creator don't overcharge for shipping or undercharge and get the fulfillment and finances into problems.
  
• By charging after the campaign, we ensure the 100% of the shipping fee goes for shipping rather than having a 10.5% off for the Kickstarter fee. This is also good for creators and backers alike.

Also, check out our Kickstarter Exclusive Add-ons for Cooking Rumble! 

 With these, everyone can be a chef! Like the T-Shirts from Tricksters, the manufacture for these hats will be held by someone very special for us. (Thanks mom!)

 This cards will be printed in a limited quantity. A player can make use of them to play Cooking Rumble or just to include them in your collection of Tricksters.

 There are very limited copies left worldwide, but some of you asked and we are delivering: 10 copies of Tricksters available through BackerKit.

Also, you will be able to add extra copies of any version of Cooking Rumble, ask for the digital recipe book or cartoon yourself into a chef!

Como mencionamos en la campaña, el costo de envío se cobrará después de Kickstarter. Esto por dos razones:

• Es mejor para el proyecto cuando se conoce la cantidad exacta de patrocinadores de cada región. El creador puede cobrar lo justo por el envío, ni más ni menos por error.
  
• Al cobrar después de la campaña, el 100% del envío se destina a éste propósito ya que evitamos que se cobre el 10.5% por las tarifas de Kickstarter. Esto es algo bueno tanto para los patrocinadores como para los backers.

THANK YOU!! More than 1 year ago, Emilio started this project in a gamejam. Then, he adapted it to be able to play it with his daughter and his fiancé. The team of Aether Tower tried it 9 months ago and we liked it a lot! And once again, the community on Kickstarter are making this possible; Cooking Rumble will become a reality!

Funded in 4 hours and all Stretch Goals unlocked:

 You also helped us spreading the word and completed the social goals for Facebook, Twitter, and BoardGameGeek, so we will add an additional Recipe tile!

Now, we have an additional surprise for you: We decided that Cooking Rumble will have a 4-player expansion!! It will take time to develop this but during the campaign, we figured out the way to make it possible; the Recipe Tiles will be printed in a way that will allow us to integrate this game with the future expansion (late 2018/early 2019).

What's next?

• During the next 7 days, your credit cards will be charged and we will receive the money in 2 weeks.
  Backers with errored pledges: please make sure you have funds and click on the 'Fix payment' button during work days. If you can't fix it, try a different card. If you still can't, you will be able to try again on BackerKit, our pledge manager. Paypal will be an option there too.

Annukuh ingredient Cards (4 different) - The Annukuh are the characters of our previous published game, Tricksters. These special promo cards will be Kickstarter exclusive and you will be able to play Cooking Rumble with them normally.

We have most of the print files ready and will be working on that too to enter to production phase as soon as possible.
